About
I'm Isabel Serrano, a multidisciplinary artist and cultural manager based in Zaragoza, Spain. Through illustration, muralism, editorial projects and participatory art, I explore visual storytelling through both personal and collaborative practices, creating work that connects creativity, culture and community.
I hold a BA in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Universidad San Jorge, and a Master's Degree in Cultural Heritage Management from the University of Zaragoza. My academic background has allowed me to combine artistic practice with cultural management, education and international collaboration.
My artistic practice develops through personal projects as well as collaborations with other artists, organisations and cultural initiatives. Over the years, I've had the opportunity to participate in a variety of artistic, editorial and public art projects. Among my early projects, I contributed to Graffiti Zone, exhibited at Medialab Prado in Madrid. I also collaborated on a mural at IES Ortega y Gasset and participated in events such as the Arts & Crafts Days at Campo de la Cebada and the Faz Art Fair in Zaragoza.
In 2021, I was featured on Aragón TV's Atónitos Huéspedes, where I presented my work, participated in the group exhibition Remain at Espacio Cómplice in Madrid, and created a public mural on Alfredo Balaguer Street in Zaragoza.
In 2022, I illustrated Gancho. La memoria de un barrio before completing an internship in cultural management with the Mothership NYC and NOoSPHERE Arts residency programmes in New York. In 2023, I continued developing editorial and public art projects, including Magdalena, the second publication in the Gancho series, and Zaragoza's Graffiti Joven Ferial Zone.
More recently, I was selected to participate in the Stronger Together exhibition at the 12 Star Gallery in London in 2024. In 2025, I participated in the 3rd Saraqusta Art Fair in Zaragoza, and in 2026, I collaborated with Zaragoza Joven magazine, creating editorial illustrations for one of its issues.
Alongside my artistic practice, I work in cultural management and European cooperation. I collaborate with organisations including Viaje a la Sostenibilidad (VALS), Colectivo 21 and Cultu., coordinating youth exchanges, training courses, youth participation initiatives and European Solidarity Corps (ESC) projects. Through these programmes, I use art as a tool for participation, intercultural dialogue and community engagement, combining creativity with education and social impact.
